What We Believe
The Bible

The Bible is God's Word to all people. It is the foundation of everything we believe.  Written by human authors under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible in all of its entirety is inspired by God to be without error and completly relevent to every one of us.

The Trinity

The Trinity exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  One God in three parts, with the same nature and attributes, serving different functions in absolute power and authority.

The Father

He is God our Father. He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging and above all Holy. The Father exists eternally as the Creator of heaven and earth.  He is faithful to His people and His Promises.  He is the one and only true living God, completly good, compassionate and all-loving.

The Son

Jesus Christ, the eternal and only Son of the Father.  He is completely man, while at the same time, completely God.  He is the only way to bring people into right relationship with the Father.  He lived a perfect and sinless life. He paid for our sins by sacrificing himself in substituion for us.  He defeated death in His resurrection so we may have life.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is also God. He guides believers in discerning truth and gives assurance of salvation. He convicts people of sin to repent and put their faith in Jesus Christ so that they may have eternal life with the Father. He empowers believers to build up the Church through many gifts that demonstate the presence and power of God.

Eternity

Man was created to be eternal.  Man will either exist separated from God by sin or together with Him forever through forgiveness and salvation.  Separated eternally from God is Hell. Together with Him is Heaven.  Heaven and Hell are both places of eternity.

Man

Man was created in the image and likeness of God.  Man was made for relationship with God, but became separated by sin through disobedience.  As a consequence, man brought spiritual and physical death upon himself, unable to ever restore right relationship with God of man's own effort.  Jesus, as fully man and fully God, came and died in man's place to pay the debt as a perfect, sinless sacrifice.  Jesus showed us that no matter how far we've fallen or how undeserving we are, He loves us and offers His heart again, again and again.

Salvation

Salvation is available for all people through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.  The death and resurrection of Jesus provides the only way of salvation through forgivness of sins.  Salvation occurs when people ask for forgivness, repent and place their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as payment for their sins.  Salvation is a free gift from God, that cannot be earned.

The Church

The Church is a community of people who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.  It is committed to the teaching of Jesus Christ, obeying all of His commands and sharing the good news to all people. The Church works together to love God, love people and make disciples while giving God all the glory.
